I went to my hair doctor and what they did is they took a peice of my scalp like skin of my head and they took it to the lab to see what was happening. My doctor said i have REALY low iron and that i have ALOPECIA AREATA. I realy dont want to loose my hair and get more balder than What i already am. Well he told me to useWomen's Rogaine(haiur regrowth treatment) witch i could buy at any drug store, and he prescribed me CLOBETASOL PROPIONATE TOPICAL SOLUTION USP, 0.05%mL. And so the doctor told me to use it at the same time twice daily and what happened was i was getting realy bad hedaches so i stoped using it. And so i dont know what else to do cause i realy dont want to suffer anymore. I was always picked on for having aliitle bit of hair and that realy hurts me.Like i said i dont want to suffer and i just want to get cured of this.I just hope someone outthere has a solution.PLEASE HELP!!!!!
If you have really low iron in your bloodstream, I suggest taking a women's multivitamin, definitely! I use One-A-Day Womens, but most all women's multivitamins are high in iron content because that's one thing women really need. Has the Rogaine worked at all? If you're feeling really self-confident, maybe try wearing a hat once in a while. If your condition doesn't start improving with increased iron intake, I suggest seeing the doctor again for a different medicine, or get a second opinion from another doctor. There are many other medicines out there besides what the doctor gave you, like fluocinonide, steroid injections, minoxidil, irritants (anthralin or topical coal tar), and topical immunotherapy cyclosporine. You could read about the effectiveness of those other types of medicines online (find out if they have they worked for other people), and maybe even suggest to your doctor what you'd like to try. Best wishes!

What is out there for women to use in aiding hair regrowth?
Supposedly propecia isn't good for females and rogaine will stop working if use is stopped, so what option do the ladies have for help regrowing hair…any women used propecia and had good health and results…any women used rogaine and stopped but hair continued…any women took a natural approach and had outstanding, great results?…help me please…
I tried Rogaine for women ~ had to quit after a day because it smelled sooo bad, like flowery old lady perfume =(
A product line called Nioxin works for me ~ it is expensive (about $15- ea. for shampoo & conditioner) but it totally works.
Also, I started making sure I was getting the recommended amount of protein in my diet & started working out to get rid of excess stress. All of these things, in combination worked great for me.
Good luck to you =)

I have alopecia areata. It is supposed to be genetic and autoimmune, but I think stress is definitely a factor (I just finished my first semester of vet school). I lost a large (about 3-4 inches in diameter) patch of hair on the back of my head very suddenly in October, and have had no regrowth. My hair is generally thinning out. My doctor prescribed a topical steroid, but I am wondering if anyone has had luck with the steroid injections? Rogaine? I know it is mostly a cosmetic problem (also likely due to the fact that I am hypothyroid), but my head itches from time to time, and in the three months I've had it, my spot keeps getting gradually bigger.
Is it worth it to see a dermatologist or should I just plan on getting a wig?
I've also heard evening primrose oil helps . . . Any ideas would be appreciated. My hair finally grew out and now I'm going bald. Luckily, there are more important things in the world . . . Thanks!
Sorry to hear that. I hope this gives you an idea.
Research studies have shown that in about 80% of the participants, products containing minoxidil are effective in slowing hair loss and, in some, causing regrowth to occur.
Probably the most well known with this ingredient is Rogaine as you may know. Scientifically-produced products do have separate products for males and females, because, of course, hormones in each are different and of different levels.
An additional product containing minoxidil is Provillus, and, again, studies have shown it to be effective. The difference between Provillus and other similar products is that the makes have added Azelaic Acid.
Its an additional ingredient which appears to enhance the follicle repair in both men and women. Provillus has been the subject of many studies, just as the other products, and level of effectiveness may be higher.
The treatment is a combination of a topical liquid applied to the balding areas, as well as a pill or capsule to be taken in conjunction with the liquid.
The critical key to effectiveness, according to its makers, is the addition of the azelaic acid, however, the correct amount of this acid is most important piece of this treatment.
You can order a free trial of Provillus from the source link below. So far all I`ve heard is that the Provillus topical solution and pill help people get their hair back. Its like "rogaine enchanced"!

I tweezed some hairs from the top of my eyebrow that I thought were strays but they weren't! My arch on top is flat! Its been 4 months without regrowth. I'm wondering if this is really permanent or if anyone's ever had eyebrow hair just take several months or more to grow back. I'm in my 40s and just started applying Rogaine to help. (My dermatologist said it was OK.) Has anyone had success with Rogaine on their eyebrows? Never pick up a tweezers after drinking wine… Very dumb.
Has anyone used anything other than Rogaine that actually helped regrow eyebrow hair? Talika? AEN?
Thanks for the input so far but I was hoping to hear from someone who has experience with a similar problem!
you know once you start using rogaine you cant stop……..its normal to be old and not have your hair grow back. happend to my mom
